How Senior Administrators, Faculty and Staff Foster Civic Religious Pluralism on Campus

This report gives us valuable insight into how higher education institutions across the United States are implementing policies, practices and programs that help foster civic religious pluralism on campus. Data has been collected from 363 campuses - of all types, sizes and locations – over three years, submitted through the self-reporting tool - the Campus Interfaith Inventory.

The report includes specific findings for how each position on campus impacts the development of a culture of religious pluralism – whether it be senior administrators including religious diversity as a priority in strategic plans, faculty integrating interfaith themes into required courses, or staff offering interfaith training to student leaders on campus – as well as highlighting several case studies that illustrate the data, showing how specific campuses are doing this work in the field.

The 2019 report builds on the findings from the last two reports - Engaging Religious and Worldview Diversity: A Snapshot of Promising Practices and Innovative Campus Practices in the First Year Experience.
